Diet Peach Smoothie Recipe

I’m hooked on this sugar-free, fat-free, appetite-control peach smoothie! I’ve had 2 a day the past few weeks, and it’s helped me recover from my unfortunate holiday food binge. (Hanging my head in shame and kicking the truffle wrappers under the couch.) Thought I’d share this super quick and easy smoothie recipe for my fellow peach lovers out there:

1½ cups frozen peach slices

8 raw whole almonds

½ cup frozen raw spinach

1 – 1½ cups milk of your choice (fat free, soy, almond, whatever)

1-2 TBSP honey

Pinch of cinnamon

Mix in blender until almond pieces are small enough. If you’re always cold like me, hold the cup with an oven mitt and drink the smoothie while sitting in front of a space heater. Enjoy!

  1. Awesome, I have to try this! I’ve been doing the whole, no grain, no sugar, and very low dairy for the last 15 days. So far so good. But this would be a fabulous addition!

    • Impressive, MV. Still doing kettle bells too? Saw a kettle bell workout on TV the other day, and it looked dangerous to me. Like a dental emergency waiting to happen. Or maybe that’s my clumsy side on the lookout. Way to stay fit! You are inspiring.

  2. I never thought to add cinnamon to my smoothie! But what a great way to help the metabolism! I’ll have to try that, I’m about to get back to some smoothie making I think, I kinda have missed getting lots of fruits and veggies in a fun drink!

    • It’s very filling – the almonds are low-fat protein, the spinach is good for fiber etc, keeps me full for hours so I don’t eat out of boredom. If you do end up trying it, Kate, let me know what you think. Or how you tweaked it to your liking. I’m always looking for ideas too 🙂

    • So, you live in Georgia and hate peaches, Susie? How’s that working out for you? Hmm strawberries – good question. I wonder how the honey and cinnamon would taste with strawberries… I’d probably try pears instead. But now I’m curious, so I’ll probably try the strawberries even thought it sounds funky 🙂 And thanks for visiting my humble blog.

    Does anyone know the nutrition information on the smoothie? I had a sleeve gastrectomy this past September and need to be accurate on my protein count since I need at least 60-90 grams a day.

    • Welcome, Patricia. I hope you’re dealing well with your procedure. And hats off for keeping track of your eating habits. Official nutrition labeling comes from FDA laboratories, and I’m just a romance author sharing a favorite recipe… so I don’t have that information. It’s my understanding that 4 raw whole almonds = 1 gram protein, but you’ll want to double check that since I’m no expert. Not sure about the other ingredients, sorry. Wish I could be more helpful!

  6. I just found your historical books this weekend and must say I am a new fan. I have not been that hooked on a book in a very long time. I stayed up until 3:00am reading and then got up for work at 5:00am. I was chomping at the bit all day to get home and finish it. I was disappointed to see I was going to have to wait for book three 😉 Thanks for you excellent writing. I like a complex plot but lately found myself saying “Get on with it already!” I am very happy to say I never felt that way with your texts. They were complex without being drawn out and boring. I can’t wait for the next book!
